Air Source Heat Pumps
Hollis Plumbing and Gas install and service air source heat pumps across Cardiff, the Vale of Glamorgan and Bridgend. Free survey, fixed-price quote, and expert advice on system sizing, hot water storage and controls. Grants such as the Boiler Upgrade Scheme may apply.
Air source heat pumps use outside air to heat your home and hot water, running on electricity rather than gas. When they are sized and installed properly they can significantly reduce running costs and carbon footprint. Sizing them properly is the important part, and it is where most heat pump installs go wrong.
Every heat pump install starts with a heat-loss survey of the property. That tells us the size of the pump you actually need, whether any radiators need upgrading, and what hot water storage will work best for the household. We do not fit a heat pump on a system that will not run efficiently once the pump is in.
We explain the trade-offs plainly: how a heat pump differs from a gas boiler in day-to-day use, what the electricity running costs look like, and where grants such as the Boiler Upgrade Scheme may apply. If a heat pump is not the right fit for the property we say so, rather than sell you one.
We cover Cardiff, the Vale of Glamorgan and the wider South Wales area. Book a free survey by calling 02921 258852 or send an enquiry through the form.
